One common denominator

Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of conducting personal development and motivational seminars, pastoral and evangelism ministry classes, and business sales training. What I have discovered is that there seems to be a common denominator to following questions:
Why is it that some people are more successful than others?
What’s the difference between the high achiever and those who settle for mediocrity?
What’s the main difference between being in a happy state of mind or depression?
What’s the difference between those people who live healthy, abundant physical lives and those who are constantly sick and diseased?
What’s the difference between those who are in good relationships and those who are in bad relationships?
It seems to really boil down to one major common denominator:
Laws of the mind

One group understands the laws of the mind, how the mind works, and how to cooperate with the fixed laws God has given us as men and women made in the image of God. This automatically leads them to success and blessings. The other group constantly breaks these laws and reaps the painful consequences of living in constant conflict with them.
There are eight basic laws. These laws explain why some people have wonderful, abundant, happy lives and others do not. Some of the laws may appear to be very similar in nature, and they are. But each one of them has a unique function in the outcomes of your life and the place and circumstances of your life today as you are reading this. The eight mental laws of the mind are as follows:
The Law of Cause and Effect
The Law of Control
The Law of Belief
The Law of Expectations
The Law of Attraction
The Law of Concentration
The Law of Sub-Conscious Activity
The Law of Correspondence
So let’s take a look at each of the eight mental laws and discover together what they are and how they apply to our lives. The first law is…
The Law of Cause and Effect

This law states that for every cause, there is a direct effect! Everything happens for a reason. This means nothing happens by accident, by chance, or by luck. It’s a matter of law! Even if you do not know the reason something happens, there is still a reason that explains it. You see, the Bible teaches the principle that success leaves clues! Galatians 6:7-8, “Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others, will harvest a crop of weeds. All they will have to show for their life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.”
What you sow, you will reap! For every cause there is an effect, either positive or negative. One of the best ways to insure your outcomes in life is to model after other successful and productive individuals. If you follow in their paths, following their actions and teachings, you will eventually get the same results. For the Christian, the Bible teaches us that Jesus Christ is our role model. The results are that we become like Him. It is the same in every area of life. If you really want to be healthy, happy, prosperous, popular, positive, and confident, find out how people who are enjoying these benefits got there, and then do the same things they are doing. Think the same thoughts, feel the same feelings, take the same actions, and eventually you will get the same results.
